About me
Kate Wood
I have been coaching and mentoring as part of a corporate role for more than 15 years, and am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach with the Coaches Training Institute. I am also a an EMCC qualified coach supervisor, providing support to new and experienced coaches world-wide.
I set up White Opal Coaching in order to spend time with clients who are seeking to make more of their lives. As a coach, I believe it’s important to adapt to get the most from individuals – sometimes that means being gentle, at other times it means being firm. I tend to use humour where that seems appropriate but always, always, treat what’s said to me in confidence. I ask permission at the outset as to how far I can go with my clients – I’ll use whatever approach you agree gets the best results for you. As you’ll see from the ‘What people say’ page, people benefit from my flexible style, underpinned by my unwavering belief that everyone is naturally creative, resourceful and whole.
My career has spanned marketing, operational and HR roles in retail, financial services, not-for-profit organisations and the civil service.

I am also a mother, director of an organisational development business, aspiring novelist and a serial home-improver. Having moved away from home as a teenager, spending 25 years in the north-west of England, Glasgow and Edinburgh, I have now moved back to my home town in Kent.
